Obituary for Jacob Gillespie
Jacob E. Gillespie, 62, of Pekin passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born April 11, 1953 in Decatur to Ulla and Myrtle Byrum. He married Debra Rutledge November 25, 1972 in Kankakee; she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Lisa Ward; granddaughter, Cassandra Lynn Ward; friend, Tim Summars; sister, Joyce (Joe) Holdman; nieces, Donna K. Hott, Kimberly Keeler, Sherri Hazzard; several nephews, great-neices, great-nephews and best friend, Gail Seabaugh. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Ward, Donna Peters, Marilyn Dismayne, Patricia LaMarr; brother, Robert Gillespie, nephew, Johnny Keeler and best friend, Daniel Seabaugh. Jacob was a truck driver for 27 years. He enjoyed driving, watching the TV shows Law & Order and Golden Girls. He also enjoyed westerns and John Wayne. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, Cassandra. Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. Memorials may be made to the family for his granddaughter.
