Obituary for James A. Robison
James A. Robison, 88, of Pekin, Illinois passed away peacefully on May 16, 2021 at his home.
James was born on July 16, 1932 in Lexington, Alabama, the son of Rozy and Carrie Robison. James married Norma J. Albrecht on June 29, 1957 in Pekin, Illinois at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She survives.
James is also survived by two sons: Jim (Sheri) of Hopedale and Jon of Pekin; one grandson, David of Hopedale; one brother, Jerry Robison of Alabama.
James was preceded in death by his parents.
James moved to Illinois in 1952 to pursue a career at Caterpillar. He served in the Army stationed in Alabama and Germany, where his specialty was Radio School, teaching Morse Code. In 1955, he returned to Caterpillar and worked as a Carpenter until his retirement in 1992.
James enjoyed fishing, traveling, Cubs baseball, gardening, and hosting parties. He loved having Garbage Can Suppers and Chicken stews. His joy was apparent when he was spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and the UAW Retirement Club.
Cremation has been accorded and a Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 with visitation one hour prior at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, Illinois in his name.
