Obituary for James Brown
James K. Brown 84, of Pekin passed away on Friday November 20, 2009 at Hope Hospice in Sebring, FL. Born in Watalula, AR on August 6, 1925 to Holland and Margret Abercrombie Brown. He married Jean Edwards in 1946, she preceded him in death on October 2, 2007. He is survived by his children: Ray (Jan) Edwards and Sue (Dick) Graber both of Pekin, Peggy (Bill) Haynes of Lake Placid, FL, brother Bill (Georgia) Brown and sister Ethel Thrist both of Alma, AR and his 5 grand and 10 great grandchildren. James served in the Navy during WWII and Korea and worked at Corn Products as a Factory Worker, retiring in 1986. A funeral service will be held at Abts Mortuary on Wednesday November 25, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service also at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Abts Mortuary has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
