James E. Edson Jr., “Jr”, 57, of Peoria, IL passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. Born August 12, 1955 to James E. Edson Sr. and Jane Edson (Longcor). Surviving are two sisters, Donna Flanagan of Peoria, IL and Shirley Edson of Galesburg, IL; 2 step-children, James Surrells of St. Nazianz, WI and Samantha Surrells of St. Nazianz, WI; his step-dad, Donald Kalb of Peoria, IL; one step-sister, Robbin Novac of Peoria, IL and one step-brother, Geno Kalb of Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, John A. Clark and Bob Miner. Jr served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a tow truck driver for A&A Towing and D&J Towing for 24 years. His hobby was racing. He raced at the Peoria Speedway in both Hornet Class and Street Stock Class. Cremation has been accorded and burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL at a later date.
