Obituary for Jean Silver
Jean Drury Silver of Peoria passed away at 4:02 a.m. Wednesday July 7, 2010 at Rosewood Care Center in Peoria. She was born Sept 29, 1921 in Jacksonville, IL to Charles Johnston and Helen Waddell Drury. On May 31, 1947, she married John D. Silver. He passed away on Aug 3, 1991.
She is survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Ginny), Charles (Karen) of Peoria and James (April) of West Peoria. Also seven grand children, six great-grand children and her sister Joan Carpenter of Santa Cruz, CA
She was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Daniel Lee, and a sister Helen Sauer.
She was very active in P.A.R.C. for a number of years selling jewelry for P.A.R.C.s benefit. She was a sales representative for Avon for 43 years beginning in 1967. She has lived at B’nai B’rith Covenant Apts since 1993 and has volunteered many hours there. She has been an active member of Beta Sigma Phi International for 65 years. Jean was proud to be a Daughter of the American Revolution.
Memorial contributions may be made to P.A.R.C. and to the Residents Association at B’nai B’rith.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held July 12, 2010 from 4 to 7p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Fellowship Hall 1420 W. Moss Ave. Aa service will follow with Rev John Zingaro officiating.
