Obituary for Jesse R. "JR" Fredrickson
Jesse R. “J.R.” Fredrickson 86, of East Peoria passed away on Monday June 15, 2009 at OSF. St. Francis Medical Center. Born in Danville on November 26, 1922 to Alfred and Iva Cull Fredrickson. His wife of over 50 years, Lois preceded him in death on December 20, 2002. Also preceding were his children; Jan Fredrickson, Jill Fredrickson and his four brothers and sisters. J.R. is survived by his grandchildren: Heidi Tosti of Clearwater, FL, Molly Fredrickson of Dunedin, FL, Joel Fredrickson of East Peoria and great grandchildren: Jessie and Sawyer Tosti. J.R. served in the Army during WWII, worked in management at Caterpillar for over 30 years, was a Golden Gloves Champ and served on the board for the Fondulac Park District. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Thursday June 18, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria. The Rev. Mary Arnold will officiate. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National MS Society Illinois chapter, 525 West Monroe Street Chicago, IL 60661 or to First United Methodist Church of East Peoria 154 E. Washington St. East Peoria, 61611. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
