Obituary for Joan L Plesko
Joan L. Bohne Verheyen Plesko, 83, of Pekin, IL passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria, IL. She was born April 25, 1932 in Quincy, IL to Joseph and Lucille Mueller Bohne. Jo married Robert A. Verheyen on April 28, 1951, in Quincy, IL. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1981. Jo later married Paul B. Plesko on June 18, 1983 in Pekin, IL. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Elenore Klitz Cleveland. She is survived by her children, Cindy (Chuck) Stephens, Nancy Emerick, and Sue Williams of Quincy, IL, Diane (Irvin) Johnson and Mary Gensel of Pekin, IL Teresa (Larry) Block of Toluca, IL, Mike (Donna) Verheyen of Peoria, IL, Andy (Yvonne) Verheyen of Dunlap, IL, Amy (John) Gardner of Germantown Hills, IL, Mark (Michelle) Verheyen of New Lenox, IL, Mike (Cindy) Plesko of Liberty, MO, Tim (Roberta) Plesko of Summitt, NJ, Andy (Juanita) Plesko of Milwaukee, WI, Marguerite Plesko of Glen Ellyn, IL, Rachel (Stanley) Plesko-Larson of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Beth, Pete, Katie, Abby, Carrie, Kelly, Jamie, Jill, Becca, Chris, Mike, Nichole, Laura, Kevin, Allison, Eric, Jacob, Megan, Alec, Cara, Kyle, Chelsea, Hailey, Rebecca, Rachel, Luke, Allison, Dulcinea, Quetzal; 38 great grandchildren and sisters, Ruth Deters and Mary Roan Thieme. Family was the joy of her life. She will be greatly missed. Jo was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, IL, where a Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10 a.m. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, 303 S. Seventh, Pekin, IL, 61554 or Tazewell County Resource Center, 21310 IL Rt 9, Tremont, IL 61568 in her name.
