Obituary for Joanne Adkins
Joanne S. Adkins, 82, of Peoria passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born September 27, 1933 in Bartonville to Ralph J. and Irene E. Claudin Stewart. She married Robert L. Adkins October 17, 1952 in Ft. Sill, OK; he preceded her in death June 28, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donald Stewart and John Stewart. She is survived by her sons, Jon (Diane) Adkins of Peoria, Stewart (Susan) Adkins of Tony, WI, Kevin (Cindy) Adkins of Bloomington; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; sister, Claudia (Tom) Stocksick of Lafayette, IN; several nieces and nephews and sister-in-laws, Estaline Schielein of Bartonville and Beverly Thompson of Pekin. Joanne worked for Giant Store Offices from 1972 to 1980 and Walmart from 1989 to 1998. Cremation has been accorded and graveside services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville.
