Obituary for John Adams Jr.
John Quincy Adams, Jr., 68, of South Pekin, IL passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Unity Point-Methodist in Peoria, IL. He was born December 25, 1944 to John. Q. and Helen Wolfe Adams Sr. in Los Angeles, CA. He married Leyden Kay Jarrett February 13, 1972 in Las Vegas, NV. She survives along with his daughters, Lena Adams (Tamara Lynn-Nannette Adams) of California, Karen Christian (Anthony) Gil of California; step-sons, William E. (Victoria) Shore of Washington, Robert Andrew (Melyn) Wayne of Florida, Walter Shore of South Pekin, IL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Dion Sutton of Washington, Richard Adams of Washington and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Christopher Adams and sister, Cherry Adams. John served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 15 years. He worked for Star Transportation as a truck driver retiring in 2012. Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Woodrow Cemetery in Pekin, with military honors.
