Obituary for John E Janssen
John E. Janssen, 89, of Peoria Heights passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at UnityPoint Health Proctor in Peoria. He was born November 20, 1926 in Peoria to Ernest and Myrtle Canady Janssen. He married Jo Ann Hoerman November 28, 1947 in Peoria, she survives. He is also survived by his children, Pam (Larry) Hawkins of Edelstein, Doug (Julie) Janssen of Ft. Myers, FL, Penny Wiemer of Bonita Springs, FL, Jayne (Steve) De Bruyn of Urbana; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. John was a pet lover also leaving behind his beloved Max. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Michelle Hewitson and two sisters. John worked as a comptroller for Appliance Distributers Company, retiring in 2007 and was the past President of the Heart of Illinois Fair. Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice in his name.
