Obituary for John Larkin
John Martin Larkin, 67 of Pekin passed away on Sunday October 2, 2011 at Pekin Hospital surrounded by family. Born to Martin and Lillian Schuetts Larkin on August 10, 1944 in Pekin. He married Jeanie Kristine Sinn in Delavan on May 21, 1977. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years of Pekin, sons; Timothy (Regina) of Delavan, Mark of Pekin, grandchildren; Nicholas and Sarah, sisters; Barbara Smith and Frances Jean (Wayne) Knaak both of Pekin, nephew David (Mary) Knaak, nieces; Laurie (Mark) Godar, Mary Jenkins and Vicki Larkin. He also leaves behind 5 great nieces and nephews and 3 great great nieces. His parents and brother-in-law Raymond preceded him in death. He attended Douglas Grade School and graduated from Tremont High School in 1962 and served in the Navy. John attended Dunwoody Institute in Minnesota and ICC in East Peoria where he also taught a Heating and Cooling class. He worked with his family at Larkin’s Home Bakery until its closing in 1975. John and his wife started John’s Heating and Air Conditioning in 1979 and closed it in 1988 to restart Larkin’s Home Bakery and they ran the bakery for 12 years. John worked for Northwest Airlines in Peoria for 5 years and had the pleasure to become part of the Kroger’s family in 2006, working there until his passing. Cremation has been accorded and a Life Celebration Open House will be held on Saturday October 8

from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Miller Center in Pekin. Please come by to have a cookie and share a memory with his family. A memorial fund has been setup at Herget Bank for the benefit of his grandchildren.
