Obituary for John Lunini
John F. Lunini, 78, of Pekin passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at Sharon Elms in Peoria. He was born April 28, 1935 in Pekin to John and Juanita Allen Lunini. He married Jessie Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Jackie Smith. He is survived by his daughters, Jeri (David) Cooley of Bellevue, Jo Ellen (Roger) Ryals of Pennsylvania, Janet Ellis of Pekin; sons, John Lunini of Carbondale, Michael (Inna) Lunini of Maryland; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Joey (Susan) Lunini of Pekin and several nieces and nephews. John served in the U.S. Navy and worked as the City Finance Director for Mt. Vernon, retiring April 30, 2001. He was the former owner of Banks Bowl in Centralia and enjoyed bowling very much. He also enjoyed golf and gardening. He was a previous member of the Elks Lodge in Pekin. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 21, 2013 at Abts Mortuary in Pekin at 1 p.m. with visitation two hours prior at the funeral home. Fr. Michael Andrejek will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
