Obituary for John Matthew Myers
John Matthew Myers 86, of Peoria passed away on Thursday October 30, 2008 at his home. Born on December 17, 1921 in Blyton, IL to Harry and Gladys Mitchell Myers. He married Sadie L. Wassil in Canton on December 21, 1946, she preceded him in death on August 19, 2000. Also preceding were his 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Surviving are his daughters Lee Ann (Jerry) Ashby of Las Vegas, NV, Sue (Jerry) Pheasant of Bellevue, brother Bob (Kay) Myers of Phoenix, AZ and his 10 grand, 22 great grad and 2 great great grandchildren. John served in the Army during WWII and worked for Ghlee Watson in Canton for 10 years and United Ready Mix for 16 years as a Truck Driver, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Teamsters # 627 Retirees Club, Amvets Post 64 and was a NASCAR and Cubs fan. Cremation has been accorded and no service will be held. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements. On-line condolences may be made at csmico.com
