Obituary for John Robert Vollmer
John Robert Vollmer 54, of Glasford passed away on Wednesday March 26, 2008 at Timbercreek Rehab and Health Center in Pekin. Born in Peoria on Nov 16, 1953, the son of George and Cleo Collins Vollmer. He is survived by his daughters; Breyan (Chad) Bright and Danielle Davis both of Bloomington, Megan Vollmer of East Peoria, sisters; Wilma (Richard) Ball of Banner, Gloria (Ronald) Allen of Louisville, KY, Georgiana (Eugene) Welker of Canton, Melva (Rick) Foust of Green Valley, grandchildren; Ethan and Ayden Bright and 17 nieces and nephews. His parents and son John Robert Vollmer Jr. preceded him in death. John was an avid hunter, fisherman and mushroom hunter. He had a great since of humor and enjoyed his time with friends. He worked in Construction. Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held on Saturday April 5th at Kingston Mines Cemetery at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to his sister Wilma for expenses. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
