Obituary for John Wineland
John C. Wineland, age 67, passed away Sunday, August 14, at his home in Edwards, IL, surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 4, 1943 in Peoria, the son of Donald Gene and Alma Marie Luecht Wineland. He married F. Jeanne Beasimer on August 9, 1964 in Peoria, IL. She survives along with their two sons; Donald (Leann) Wineland of Glasford, IL, and Scott (Carla) Wineland of Elmwood, IL; one daughter, Whitney (Steve) Edwards of Edwards; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers; Seth (Judy) Wineland and Tony (Melissa) Wineland and one sister; Linda Bruesch . He was preceded in death by his parents. He worked as a meat cutter for 9 years after high school, and went into painting following in his father's foot steps. He started his own business, Wineland and Sons Drywall & Painting in 1974. He retired in 2004 because of ill health. John enjoyed fishing, golfing and basking in the sun on the back deck. Family and friends were most important in his life, especially his grandchildren. He loved all and cared deeply. John was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bartonville where a memorial service will be held on Fri., Aug. 19, 2011 at 11a.m. Pastor Michael Jones will officiate. The family will be receiving friends and celebrating John's life following the service at the family home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate. Cremation has been accorded.
