Obituary for Joseph Binder
Joseph Binder, 81, of Edwards passed away Saturday August 11, 2012 at his residence. He was born January 25, 1931 in Csolnok, Hungary to Ferenc and Anna Quintz Binder. He married Barbara Ann Lyons July 12, 1961 in Peoria, she preceded him in death in 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents and sister, Katalin Trexler. He is survived by his son, Joseph M. (Heather) Binder of Oswego, IL; grandchildren, Jarred and Jocelyn Binder of Oswego, IL; brothers, Ferenc Szabo, Mihaly Binder, Andras Binder and Janos Binder all of Hungary; sister, Anna Buzas of Hungary and many beloved nieces and nephews. Joseph worked for Caterpillar retiring in 1991. He was a UAW member and active in the German-American Central Society. He immigrated in 1956 and he was a proud U.S. Citizen, who was recognized for his outstanding citizenship by the Sons of the American Revolution. He enjoyed walking with his friends at Northwoods Mall and working in his garden. Cremation has been accorded and a Memorial Mass will be held Monday, August 20, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kickapoo. Fr. Joseph Dondanville will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Kickapoo. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Brimfield Volunteer-Fire Department, 206 E. Knoxville, Brimfield, IL 61517.
