Obituary for Josephine Rose
Josephine Rose 92, of 900 Centennial Dr. East Peoria formally of Peoria passed away on Friday March 13, 2009 at Rosewood Care Center. Born in Hope, AR on November 12, 1916 to Elijah and Lorena Pate Smith. She married Floyd Rose on December 8, 1975 in Eureka, he preceded her in death on March 14, 1995. Also preceding were her 5 brothers, 4 sisters and 3 grandchildren. Josephine is survived by her children; Janie King, Mary Haley, Alyce Maddickes, Pearlean Bolden and Charles Perry all of Peoria, granddaughter Helen (Edmond) Booker of Peoria whom she raised and a host of nieces and nephews. 15 grand, 36 great grand and 9 great great grandchildren also survive. She was a Homemaker and a member of the Old Morning Star Baptist Church. Cremation has been accorded and graveside services will be held at Lutheran Cemetery at 11:30 on Friday March 20, the Rev. Ardre O. Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends following the graveside at the Carver Community Center 710 W. Third St. Peoria. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
