Obituary for Joyce Fischer
Joyce Fischer 79, of Pekin passed away on Wednesday February 17, 2010 at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton. Born in Kingston Mines on April 10, 1930 to Thomas and Jesse Baker McCune. She married Melvin Fischer in Manito on April 6, 1951, he preceded her in death on May 29, 1995. Her parents and brothers Jack and Pat also preceded her in death. Joyce is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She worked as a Office Worker at Caterpillar for many years, retiring in 1985. Joyce was a member of the Council of Catholic Women and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where a funeral mass will be held on Monday February 22, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Father Pat Fixsen will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Alzheimer’s Association or Apostolic Christian Restmor. Abts Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
