Obituary for Judith Gauf
Judith M. Gauf, 80, of Peoria, passed away Dec. 16, 2014, at home. She was born Dec. 15, 1934, in Peoria to PK and Helen Brannon. She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Gauf (Feb. 24, 2008). The two married Nov. 19, 1955, in Peoria. Surviving are two children, Michael of Jacksonville, FL, and Deanne of Peoria Heights; three grandchildren, Kathryn Gauf of Clarksville, TN, Nathan Gauf of Detroit, MI and Wilson Gauf of Ft. Gordon, GA. While a former employee of Peoria's Northern Regional Research Laboratory, Judy focused on raising her family and supporting her community. From Cub Scout and Brownie leader, sports mom, caring neighbor and Peoria Heights Library volunteer, she was a dedicated wife, mother and friend. In lieu of services, memorials may be made to the Peoria Heights Library or the American Heart Association. A celebration of life reception for Judy and Bill will be held January 31, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Peoria Heights Library. At Judy's request, cremation rites have been accorded.
