Obituary for Judy Welker
Judy Ann Welker, 60, of Farmington passed away July 8, 2017 at her home with her family by her side after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was born April 6, 1957 in Canton, the daughter of Marie Boone and Jim Murphy. Survivors include son, Bryan (Lisa) Welker of Elmwood; daughter, Jenine (Larry Schmitt) Welker of Hanna City; grandsons, Hunter Schmitt, Jordan Curington; step-grandson, Trey Hardesty; sisters, Debbie Scheerer, Diana Keefer, Vicki (John) Welker and Janette (Richie) Hadsall. She was preceded in death by her mother; father and her brother-in-law, Rick Keefer. Judy worked at the Canton Overall Factory and at Menards. She enjoyed many things, including going to garage sales, shopping, being outdoors, going on mini-vacations with her family, spending time with her children and most of all hanging out with her grandkids. They were the light of her life. She would do anything for them. She was a loving, caring, mother, sister and grandmother who put everyone else first in her life. She was a true angel and she always took care of everyone in her small town, even if they were not family. Per her wishes cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Yates City Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held immediately after the services at the Elmwood Tap Banquet Hall, 112 S. Magnolia. Memorial donations may be made to My Place St. Jude in Yates City.
