Obituary for Junior Whittimore
Junior A. Whittimore, 90, of Marquette Heights passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his residence. He was born July 4, 1925 in Halls, TN to Alvie and Littelf Carty Whittimore. He married Nancy Ewing December 5, 1967; she preceded him in death July 6, 1974. He was also preceded in death by his parents and son, Daniel. He is survived by his son, Dale (Nicole) Whittimore of Marquette Heights; grandchildren, Lindsey Broadfield, Alissa Whittimore, Phillip Whittimore; great-grandson, Elijah Englund; daughters, Debbie Whittimore of Franklin, NC, Barbara (Joseph) Covey of Canton; sister, Gladys Beasley of Chicago and several nieces and nephews. Junior served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Corn Products, retiring in 1981. Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin with military honors. There will be a celebration of life immediately following the service at the AMVETS in North Pekin on Rt. 29. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scleroderma Foundation in memory of Junior.
