Obituary for Karen Blakely
Karen Sue Blakely, 61, of Pekin passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at her residence. God made her an angel and took her by the hand and took her home today. She was born January 24, 1955 in McLean County to Joseph and Loretta Spaulding Copeland. She married Larry D. Blakely September 4, 1976 in Downs; he survives. She is also survived by her son, Brandon (Amanda) Blakely of Pekin; daughter, Dina (Jeremiah) Fletcher of Normal; grandsons, Braden and Easton Blakely, Elijah and Jackson Fletcher; granddaughter, Kristin Fletcher; siblings, Herb (Vicki) Copeland of Pekin, Carla (Fred) Wolfe of Pekin, Joey Copeland of Normal and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Karen worked as a secretary for a law firm and Tazewood Mental Health. She was a loving wife, mother, grammy and friend and will be missed by many. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
