Obituary for Kathlene Clark
Kathlene “Brickler” Clark of Pekin, Illinois, age 79, passed away February 23, 2016 at 1:45 a.m. at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria. Katie, as she was called by most of her friends, was originally from Creve Coeur, and lived in Oak Run with her husband, Bill Clark for many years, eventually moving to Pekin after his death. Her parents, Lou and Al Brickler, preceded her in death along with her brother, Stan Brickler; her first husband, Don Herrin; her second husband, Bill Clark; her son, Randy Herrin; her son-in-law, Carl Sebree and brother-in-law, Fred Smith. Her daughter, Sabreena Sebree; sisters, Madonna Smith, Georgia (Bill) Ray and Latina (Dennis) Johnson; 5 grandchildren, Shawn Summa, Shannon (Amber) Summa, Kelly Herrin, Kacie (Stijn) Van Colen, Kevin Herrin; 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, survive her. Kathlene worked at Caterpillar for most of her career, but her passion was fishing, birding, traveling, and family. She was a avid pinochle player, a very well read mystery connoisseur, a blogger of current events, and politics. She spent the last 5 years of her life at Grand Victorian/Morningside of Pekin where she enjoyed her life with those residents whom she called dear friends, particularly, Woody, Pat and Ione. The family would like to say a special thank you to her dearest friends, Art and Sue, the wonderful staff at Morningside, and all the people who helped her in her last days. There will be a memorial service to celebrate the very special life of Kathlene Clark, this spring/summer. We will all miss this loving woman, with her smiling blue eyes.
