Kay Myers Atkins, 71, of East Peoria, IL passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015 at her residence. She was born June 13, 1943 in Sumner, IL to Hollis and Anna Lee VanVleet Myers. She was preceded in death by her parents; great-grandchild, Haylee; brothers, Benny Myers, Onell Myers and sister, Julie Atkins. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Chitwood Ward of East Peoria, IL, Melissa Sechrest of Bridgeport, IL; grandchildren, Shawn, Shelby, Billy, Kris, Nathan, Katelyn, Rilyn, Jasmyn, Jaxon, Gianna; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Quenton, Kayson, Mercedez, Navia, Billy, Connor, Gabe, Isaic, Landon, Easton; sister-in-law, Mary Myers of Tennessee; half-sister, Lorenne Lewis of Bridgeport, IL and several nieces and nephews. Kay worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She enjoyed crafts, drawing, spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Her favorite author was Billy Graham. She also loved to garden and watch the series Bones. Cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held.
