Obituary for Kenneth Arthur Kemper
Kenneth Arthur Kemper, 86, of Pekin, IL passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at his residence.
He was born March 1, 1935 in Gilson, IL to Benjamin Franklin and Lemona Belle Huber Kemper.
He married Rosemary Ann Stanfel November 3, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton, IL; she preceded him in death January 29, 2017. His parents and one granddaughter also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, David A. (Cynthia) Kemper; daughter, Denise A. Haley; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Army and worked for Caterpillar retiring July 1, 1989. He was a member of Local 974. He was very involved with the St. Vincent DePaul Society in Pekin and a 3rd and 4th Degree member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Archbishop Schlarman Council 3507 in Pekin.
Kenneth was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where a funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 10 a.m. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be held Monday, March 29, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Abts Mortuary in Pekin.
Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society in Pekin in his name.
