Obituary for Kenneth "Ken" Allan Somers
Kenneth “Ken” Allan Somers 69, of Peoria passed away on Wednesday May 7, 2008 at Proctor Hospital. Born in Chicago on Jan 5, 1939 to Carl and Dorothy Nordstrom Somers. He married Nancy Warren in Peoria on May 7, 1998, she survives along with stepdaughter Rebecca (Thomas) Pellens of Bartonville, stepson Kirk Hayworth of Macomb, brothers; James (Debbie), Richard and Allan Somers. His parents preceded him in death. Ken served in the Navy for 20 years and was the Club Manager at AMVET’s Peoria Post #64 and also belonged to the American Legion and V.F.W. both in Bartonville. Cremation has been accorded and at Ken’s request a Celebration of Life will be held on Monday at the AMVET’s Post #64 on Monroe St. Peoria from 4 to 8 p.m. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
