Obituary for Kenneth Reed
Kenneth Reed passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:41 p.m. at Heartland Nursing Home in Peoria. Kenneth was born in Springfield on August 30, 1942. He was the son of Dorothy A. Bormeny and Arthur L. Reed. Kenneth had a life full of several interesting careers as an EMT & Firefighter in Springfield as well as a Cub Scout Leader, Police Officer, Wastewater Management in Germantown Hills, 20 years Self-Employment as "At Your Service" in Port St. Lucie, FL, and Security Guard positions in AZ and Peoria, IL. Kenneth enjoyed doing woodworking and shared his creations with all. Other joys were hunting, fishing and planes. Surviving are his wife, Diane Reed of Peoria; one brother, Don (Pat) Reed of FL; one sister, Dora Jean (Linn) Lennean of Idaho; two daughters, Deanna (Brian) Foreman of Riverton, Lisa (“Farmer” Kingdom) Gann of Germantown Hills; two sons, Kenneth Reed Jr. of Springfield, Brett (Becky) Gann of Washington; seven grandchildren, Reece (Stephie) Kiefner of Germantown Hills, Brett Gann Jr. of WI, Sadie (Patsy) Gann of Peoria, Sydney Gann of FL, Nicole Brabson of Peoria, Kristi Brabson of Washington, and Jolie Ann Foreman of Riverton. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Alonzo Kenneth Kiefner of Germantown Hills, Nick Gomez and Michael Pearce of Washington. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; one brother, Robert Lee Reed and stepson, Bradley B. Gann. Per his wishes Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Ken's Life with family and friends will be planned at a future date.
