Obituary for Larry Holmes
Larry Gilbert Holmes 76, of Pekin passed away on Saturday May 22, 2010 at his residence. Born in Pekin to Jesse and Caroline Kelsey Holmes on August 3, 1933. He married Norma Welker in Groveland on July 3, 1993. She survives along with children: Brenda (Kent) Arends of Bloomington, Steve (Becky) Holmes of Bartonville, Ben (Shelly) Holmes of Fredericksburg, VA, Jon (sherry) Schultz of East Galesburg, Melanie (Mark) Hanlin of Fairview, sisters: Joyce (Louis) Sevier of Pekin, Merle Eskridge of Madison, WI and his 10 grandchildren. He also leaves behind his guide dog, Nazzaro. His parents and brother Wiley preceded him in death. Larry was a Superintendent at Keystone Steel & Wire Co., retiring in 1983. He also dedicated the last 42 years to the service of others. Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 26
