Obituary for Linda Koetter
Mrs. Linda Lou Koetter, 78, of Pekin, IL went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 12:13 p.m. at Pekin Hospital. She was born on December 21, 1937 to Lola Martin Taylor in Peoria, IL. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, where she held many active positions over the years. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society as well as Mother of the Year. She married Robert Koetter; he preceded her in death. They raised seven children. Their daughter, Cindy Lou preceded them in death. She leaves behind five siblings, Ivan (Colleen) Martin of East Peoria, Lou (Artella) Taylor of East Peoria, Phyllis Taylor of Delavan, Darla Griffin of Manito, Lola (Larry) Cross of Havana; six children, Phyliss (Gene) Pugh of Plano, TX, Robert (Anne) Koetter of New Port Richey, FL, Larry (Sherry) Koetter of Peoria, Steve (Judy) Koetter of Quartz Hills, CA, Irvin (Jocelyn) Koetter of Pekin, Kevin (Kathryn) Koetter of Pekin; daughter-in-law, Denise Koetter of Pekin; six grandchildren, Kacey (Justin) Piro, Jenny (Brian) Polakowski, Stephanie (Jack) Weaver, Matt Koetter, Karson (Samantha) Koetter, Jeff Koetter and three great-grandchildren, Austin and Annaston Piro and Jack Weaver IV. Linda retired from 14th Street Hardware after 27 years of service. She very much enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She attended Saturday evening services at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. She enjoyed laughter filled lunches with her siblings. She also enjoyed spending her mornings with her friends at local restaurants. Linda very much enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren as well as sharing pictures of her youngest one. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin with visitation one hour prior at the church. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. Memorials may be made to the church in her name.
