Linda L. Ranney, 78, of Pekin, IL passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Pekin Manor. She was born on January 8, 1936 in Sabina, IL, to Paul E. and Sarah E. Healea. She married Don E. Ranney on February 19, 1955 in Farmer City, IL. He survives along with her sons, Stephen (Donna) of Pekin, IL, and Paul (Linda) of Freeport, IL; 6 grandchildren, Sara Myers of Lenoir City, TN, Drew Ranney of Pekin, IL, Kyle Ranney, of South Pekin, IL, Chad Ranney of Park City, UT, Ryan Ranney of Chicago, IL, Christopher Ranney of Freeport, IL; 2 great grandchildren, Daylen Myers and Henry Ranney; 2 brothers, James of Wedowee, AL and Paul (Bus) of Marsailles, IL. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, baking, being with friends, and listening to music. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pekin, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Richard. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 5-7 pm at Abts Mortuary in Pekin, IL. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, IL. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the service and graveside services will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
