Obituary for Marcella Miget
Marcella J. Miget, 87, of Pekin, IL passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at Hallmark House in Pekin. She was born May 6, 1929 in Perryville, MO to Francis and Cara Morrison Gisi. She married Stephen P. Miget June 12, 1948 in Perryville, MO by Rev. Robert Miget, brother of the groom. He preceded her in death September 23, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bobby Gisi, Donald Gisi and grandson, Jose Carlos Baeza-Padilla. She is survived by her son, Ronald P. (Taye) Miget of Meadows, IL; daughter, Beverly A. (John) Wohlrab of Sun City Center, FL; grandchildren, Heather (Joseph) Beer of Fort Wayne, IN, Chad (Dawn) Wohlrab of Madison, WI, Jeremy Miget of Chicago, IL, Seth Padilla of Kewanee, IL and Gavin Padilla of Hawaii; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Cooper and Connor Beer and Haleigh and Brandon Wohlrab. She is also survived by her sister, Caralyn (Russell “Jr”) Stokely of Perryville, MO, sister-in-law, Pat (Gene) Kirn of DeSota, MO and several nieces and nephews. Marcella worked at Pekin High School cafeteria, retiring May 31, 1991. She also worked at Standard Brands and Vogel’s Market. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, where she served on St. Vincent DePaul Society, Council of Catholic Women and Ladies of Columbus. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016 with visitation starting at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, St. Vincent DePaul food pantry in Pekin, or the Knights of Columbus in Pekin.
