Obituary for Margaret DeCoteau
Margaret Irene DeCoteau, 69, of Pekin passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Pekin Manor. She was born in Peoria on April 15, 1948 to Calvin and Mildred Richmond Boseke. She is survived by her sister, Karen Boseke-Taylor of Chillicothe; daughter, Stacy Brosamer-Nahas of Boston, MA; son, Nik Brosamer of Scales Mound, IL; daughter, Tiffany Ortiz-Hensley of Pekin; son, Salvador Ortiz of Chicago; adopted brother, Charles Cleveland of Pekin; adopted son, Joseph Neville of Tampa, FL and grandchildren, Miles Brosamer, Angelica Duran, Jaden Hensley, Salvador Ortiz, Cameron Nahas and Isabella Ortiz. Her parents preceded her in death. Margaret was a Social Worker, had a Bachelors Degree of Science from Bradley, Masters in Social Work from the University of Denver, President of Council for Women’s Awareness, member of Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, member of Denver Indian Center, and a member of Illinois chapter of Mensa. Margaret dedicated her life to helping those in need and less fortunate. She worked with battered women, abused children, Alzheimer’s patients, terminal hospice patients and mentally challenged individuals. Her memory will live on forever as she was loved by many. Per her wishes cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at the Pekin Pavilion on the Lagoon at Mineral Springs Park.
