Obituary for Margery Gollon
Margery L. Gollon, 89, of Pekin formerly of Peoria passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at Hallmark House in Pekin. Born October 8, 1923 in Peoria County to Carl J. and Sarah McCune Gollon. She is survived by her brother, James (Patricia) Gollon of Springfield; sister, Eileen Bingham of Pekin; nephews, Michael (Tracey) Bingham of Metamora, Patrick (Jill) Bingham of St. Peters, MO, Robert (Kathleen) Gollon of Springfield and one grandniece and four grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, James D. Gollon. Marge was employed as a Secretary at GTE now Verizon in Bloomington for 20 years, retiring in March of 1989, and had previously worked at WABCO in Peoria. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pekin and its Council of Catholic Women. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at her church. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Memorials may be made to her church or St. Joseph’s Catholic School both at 303 South 7th St. Pekin, IL 61554.
