Obituary for Mark Welton
Mark Reid Welton, 60, died of a heart attack on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at his home in Peoria. He was born to James and Marilyn (Reid) Welton on June 14, 1956. Survivors include his father, James Welton, of Peoria, and one sister, Marci (Welton) Corbin of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Welton, who passed away November 25, 2011. Mark attended Bergan High School in Peoria and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Tulsa University in 1976. He took residence in Tulsa, where he worked as a Mental Health Counselor at Children’s Medical Center and as a Chemical Dependency Counselor at various Behavioral Health agencies. He moved back to Peoria in 2006. Mark’s special hobbies and interests included watching sports, fishing, gardening and a love of nature and animals. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his sharp wit and sense of humor. Cremation rights have been accorded. In keeping with Mark’s wishes, no service will be held. Immediate family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
