Mary A. Cornwell 77, of Pekin passed away Monday January 17, 2011 at Pekin Manor. She was born July 31, 1933 in Pekin to George and Grace Ertmoed Grant. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother; Mark Grant. She is survived by her son; Mark (Joanne) Johnson of Red Wing, MN, 5 daughters; Rae Ann (Henry) Carpenter of Algonquin, IL, Laurie (Tom) Godby of Pekin, Rosemary (Mike) Edwards of Wasola, MO, Juanita (Randy) Samick of Harrisburg, PA, Rebecca Harmon of Pekin, 1 brother; Patrick (Jan) Grant of Glenview, IL, 2 sisters; Georgia (Vell) Hall of Shawnee, OK and Claire (Sonny) Gilmore of Enterprise, AL. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mary was the manager of Bergners restaurant and worked at Pekin Hospital retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where a Funeral Mass will be held Thursday January 20, 2011 at 1:30pm. A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 at the church prior to the service. Father Jim Pankiewicz will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
