Obituary for Mary Margaret Baxter
Mary Margaret Baxter, 73, of Pekin passed away on Sunday August 7, 2016 at the home of her sister. She was born July 26, 1943 in Decatur to Robert and Leta Mason Culshaw. She married William D. Baxter on June 24, 1967; he preceded her in death on November 15, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Steven Garmon. She is survived by her sister Diane Garmon of Pekin; niece, Kathy (Mike) Copelen of Washington and many great-nieces and nephews. Mary graduated from Bradley University in 1967, taught English at Pekin High School, Richwoods and Plymouth High School in Plymouth, MI, retiring in 1988 and was a member of ENP Sorority. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Pekin where a memorial service will be held on Friday, August 12th at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Memorials may be made in her name to her church or Juvenile Diabetes research.
