Obituary for Mary Slankard
Mary C. Slankard, 56, of Peoria Heights, IL passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL after her two year battle with cancer. She was born October 15, 1956 in Peoria, IL to L. Earl and Elizabeth M. Biard Slankard. Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Ramsey of North Pekin, IL; grandchildren, Alexis Ayler of Peoria Heights, IL, Macie Ramsey of North Pekin, IL, Braylinn Ramsey of North Pekin, IL, Chance Ehley of North Pekin, IL; brothers, Arthur (Judi) Slankard of Wellington, New Zealand, Daniel (Judy) Slankard of Dunlap, IL, Albert (Janice) Slankard of Washington, IL and nine nieces and nephews. Mary graduated from Peoria Heights High School. She worked for HCH Administration/Health Alliance for 33 years. She loved to ride motorcycles with friends. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights where a memorial mass will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior at the church. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Catholic Church or OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in her name.
