Obituary for Marylinda Collins
Marylinda “ML” Collins, 64, of Pekin died Friday, May 31, 2013 at her residence. ML was born in Chicago, IL January 27, 1949 to Henry E. and Loretta M. (Marcin) Miller. She married Donald R. Collins December 4, 1971 in Albuquerque, NM. Her parents, husband and two grandchildren preceded her in death. Surviving are five sons, Jacob G.A. (Heather) Collins of Pekin, Aaron H. (Kristen) Collins of Hanna City, Stephen E. (Heidi) Collins of Groveland, Michael P. (Tanya) Collins of Gurnee and Donald R. (Cindy) Collins II of Farmington; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Lewinger of Biloxi, MS; one brother, Joseph A. (Glenda) Miller of Savoonga, AK; first cousin and God Mother, Sister Mary Lou Wcislo, I.B.V.M. of Elmhurst, IL, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and dear friends. ML was a 911 Telecommunicator for Tazewell-Pekin Consolidated Communications Center for 28 years, retiring in May 2004. She was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Police (F.O.P.) Albuquerque, NM, Lodge 1 and a member of Tazewell Toastmasters and Pekin Riding Club. ML’s love of people and playing cards led her to Pekin Miller Center where she made many wonderful friends while enjoying Pinochle and Euchre. While this life was not exceedingly long, it was truly blessed with an abundance of family and friends. Cremation has been accorded. There will be no memorial service as ML spent the last days of her life visiting with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Pekin T.A.P.S. Animal Shelter.
