Obituary for Melvin Mosher
Melvin B. Mosher, 69, of Bartonville, Illinois, died at 6:15 p.m., Monday, February 29, 2016, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, in the presence of his family, losing his long fought battle to stomach cancer. Born July 28, 1946, in Wisconsin, son of John William Buhl Sr. and Viola (Mosher) Buhl. Surviving are his girlfriend Donna Lowe, whom he shared a home and loved very dearly. Also his daughter Marisa (Tommy) Fry of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, John William (Kristy) Buhl, Jr. of Eldridge, Iowa, Russell (Leslie) Buhl of Peoria and sisters Sandra Sheckler (Mike Faichney) and Valerie Irwin of Peoria and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. His most recent career was in lawn care and snow removal. He volunteered much time to helping those in need. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving in the US Army and a member of the Eagles Auxillary 265 in Peoria, Illinois. Melvin was a Nascar fanatic, never missing a race and a diehard Jeff Gordon fan #24. While he loved his Nascar, his biggest love of all was his family and friends. He lived life to the fullest, he had no strangers. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Cremation will be accorded. Private burial of ashes will be held at Cottonwood Cemetary in Edwards at a later date.
