Obituary for Mickey Wills
Mickey C. Wills, 65, of Havana, IL passed away at 7:48 a.m. Thursday, November 22, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 16, 1947 in Danville, IL to Jack and Mary Ellen Covert Wills. He married Shirley Thomas Staltz March 10, 2012 in Havana, IL. She survives along with his mother, Mary Ellen Miller of Normal, IL; daughters, Whitney Newell of Danville, IL, Marcel Swinford of Martinvsville, IN; step-daughters, Julie (Craig Ivey) Staltz of Glasford, IL, Marlene (Brett) Greene of Lena, IL; brothers, Larry (Sandy) Wills of Bloomington, IL, Fred Wills of Georgetown, IL; step-sister, Sue (John) Bracewell of Oakwood, IL; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Wills and step-father, Robert Miller. Mickey worked in construction for 40 years; he retired from Schamburg & Schamburg in Danville, IL in 2002. He was also a certified Lock Smith. He was a Mason; he belonged to the Ansar Shriner’s and Gao Grotto in Danville, IL. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed hunting and Bass Tournament fishing. Cremation has been accorded and burial with graveside services will be held Saturday December 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Danville, IL for family and friends followed by a reception celebrating his life at Ridgeview Baptist Church 3838 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. Memorials may be made to Mason District Hospital in Havana, IL, Gao Grotto in Danville, IL or OSF Hospice Bloomington, IL in his name.
