Obituary for Mitchell Spicer
Mitchell L. Spicer, 58, of Manito passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at his residence. He was born November 1, 1955 in Peoria to Jackie and Nora Herrington Spicer. He married Sally Langeberg July 6, 1979 in Pekin. She survives along with his daughters, Amanda (Arlo Hale) Spicer of Delavan, Michelle (Stanley) Gambill of East Peoria, Jackie Spicer of Manito; grandchildren, Corbin, Nora, Kingston, Odysseus, Alexis, Maximus; mother, Nora Lee Spicer of Washburn; brothers, Barry (Sharon) Spicer of Loda, John (Melissa) Spicer of East Peoria; several aunts, uncles, cousins; nieces, Tiffany and Abby and a nephew that will be born soon. He was preceded in death by his father. Mitchell worked for Caterpillar for 36 years retiring in 2009. He was an avid outdoorsman, member of the UAW Local 974 and Peoria Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed his family and friends. Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the UAW Hall 3025 Springfield Road, East Peoria, IL 61611.
