Nadra Lynn O’Keefe, 84, of Pekin, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026, following complications of Alzheimer's disease.
Nadra was born February 23, 1942, in McMinnville, TN on an army base to Harvey and Edith (Goodin) Schmick. She married Robert V. O’Keefe on January 24, 1959, in Pekin. He preceded her in death in 2006. She is also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jay Schmick, and her sister, Pamela Ortega.
Surviving are her children, Cynthia (David) Nash and Mark (Heidi) O’Keefe, both of Tremont, and Mary Reynolds of College Park, MD; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Gary (Sondra) Schmick and John Schmick, and sister, Ruby (Terry) Cunefare.
Nadra was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and in later years attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Manito. Her faith was very important to her, and she spent many years devoutly serving her church in various capacities.
Nadra was an avid crafter and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and quilting. Some of her greatest joys were making and gifting her creations to others. She also enjoyed baking, of which she was particularly gifted in making pies and wedding cakes.
A memorial Mass will be held for Nadra on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 1:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Private burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
Memorial contributions can be made in Nadra’s name to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Vincent de Paul Society.
