Obituary for Nancy McCord
Nancy Lee McCord, 84, of Peoria formerly of Pekin died at Heritage Manor in Chillicothe on Thursday, March 16, 2017.
She was born on June 23, 1932 in Evanston to Robert W. and Dorothy Burns McCord, Sr., both parents and niece Michelle Davis preceded her in death.
Surviving are a brother, Robert W. McCord, Jr. (and Anita) of Danbury, CT. Also surviving are three nieces, Patricia McKenney, Sheila Corr, and Sharon Cera; five great nephews and two great nieces.
She taught school in Pekin, District 108, and the surrounding area for 35 years, she retired in 1994.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where she taught CCD classes and sang in the choir.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin following the services.
Memorials may be made to Transitions Hospice or charity of the donor’s choice in her name.
