Obituary for Natalie M. Myers
Natalie M. Myers, 84 of Peoria died at 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the home of her daughter Joyce Small in Barnesville, OH. She was born November 21, 1924 in Toluca, IL, daughter of Lewis F. and Mayme Donnelly Pelz. She married Raymond O. Myers on February 2, 1942 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2008. Surviving are two daughters, Joyce (Jim) Small of OH and Terri (Jim) Scholl of Mapleton; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Raymond L. Myers; one grandson, Sean M. Scholl; four brothers and two sisters. Natalie worked her whole life in the bakery industry, specializing in cake decorating. She had a special talent for creating beautiful wedding cakes. She worked at Glen Oak Bakery for 4 years; Melvin’s Bakery for 16 years and Trefzger’s Bakery until she retired in 1992. Natalie also made dried and silk floral arrangements for D.A. Hoerr & Sons. Natalie’s true love in her later years was her granddaughter; Mackenzie Scholl with whom she had a “special” bond. She also loved gardening, feeding and bird watching and making floral arrangements. She was a member of the Bakery & Confectionary Union. Natalie was of the Catholic Faith. Cremation rites have been accorded, burial and graveside services will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens at a later date. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
