Obituary for Norma Comley-Gibson
Norma O. Comley-Gibson, 92, of Mapleton, IL formerly of Donna, TX passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Pekin Manor in Pekin, IL. She was born November 25, 1922 in Ophiem, IL to Carl and Ruby Nelson Sundeen. She married Arthur Vaughn in 1941. She later married George Comley in 1950; he preceded her in death in 1988. She then married William Gibson in 1993; he preceded her in death in 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister and one brother. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Eugene) DeWitte of Mapleton, IL, Georgette Wilson of Arlington, MA; grandchildren, Connie (Lonnie) Catterall of Bartonville, IL, Brian (Kathy) DeWitte of Erie, IL, Berkley Wilson of Dorchester, MA, Hannah Wilson of Washington, D.C.; great-grandchildren, Aaron and Braden Catterall and Ashlie, Breanna and Cody DeWitte and one sister, Tina (Ken) Nelson of Madison, WI. Norma and her husband retired to Texas in 1974 where she worked for Donna Aluminum Products. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Donna and active in the Unique Singles and Upper Valley Singles in Donna as well. She moved to Mapleton, IL to live with her daughter in 2009. She was an avid reader and loved to crochet. Cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held.
