Obituary for Norma Westervelt
Norma J. Westervelt, 84, of Pekin, IL passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 at St. Joseph Home in Lacon, IL. She was born November 27, 1930 in Metamora, IL to William J. and Nora M. Regele Bittner. She married Ralph Westervelt July 5, 1952 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, IL. He survives along with her daughter, Coleen K. (Kevin) Gregory of Green Valley, IL; granddaughters, Angela D. Bontemps of Delavan, IL, Lyndsey C. Broyles of Pekin, IL; great-granddaughters, Shelby Bontemps of Delavan, IL, Gracie Bontemps of Delavan, IL; great-grandson, Holden Wald of Pekin, IL and nephew, Richard L. Bittner of Walnut Creek, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. Norma was a graduate from Academy of Our Lady in 1948. She owned Coleen’s Dress Shop from 1964 until retiring in 1978. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Peoria, IL. She loved dancing and sewing. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Norma was loved by everyone. She did not know a stranger, and will be truly missed. Cremation has been accorded and per her wishes no services will be held. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Children’s Hospital of Peoria, IL in her name.
