Obituary for Oleata Behrens
Oleata Marcine Behrens, 92, of Bartonville passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 10:27 p.m. at her residence. She was born November 15, 1921 in Peoria to Walter and Blanche Chinowth Hayes. She married Robert J. Behrens in Peoria on March 27, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother; two sisters; son, Steven; one grandson, Jeffrey Behrens; two great-granddaughters, Sydney and Hailey Walker and one son-in-law, Robert Craig. She is survived by her children, Barbara Craig of Germantown Hills, Janet (Chris) Myers of Pekin, Robert (Rita) Behrens of Mapleton, Michael (Kathi) Behrens of Peoria, Ann (Rick) Rodecker of Bartonville, Laura (Marvin) Danner of Canton; daughter-in-law, Linda Behrens of East Peoria; brother, Bud (Margie) Hayes of Peoria; sister, Thelma Ackerman of Morton; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Oleata was a member of the Homemaker Extension, and B’nai B’rith Council. She was of the Catholic faith. She loved reading and flowers. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Peoria at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at the church.
