Obituary for Orville E. Gene Gregory
Orville Eugene “Gene” Gregory 66, of Marquette Heights passed away on Thursday May 7, 2009 at Pekin Hospital. Born in Thayer, MO on January 7, 1943 to Orville J. and Ethel M. Rogers Gregory. He married Debra L. Bruder in North Pekin on June 4th 1983, she survives along with his children; Tina (Paul) Warden of Peoria, Teresa (Pat) Eggers of Bartonville, Chad and Rob Gregory both of East Peoria, Todd (Marsha) Gregory of West Palm Beach, FL, Diane (Terry) Thompson of AR, Brandi (Casey) Whitley of Pekin, Bradley Gregory of Marquette Heights, brothers; Roy (Lucy) of Metamora, Gary (Sherry) of Washington, sister Lauerne (Don) Soloman of Metamora, 20 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, brother Donald and a grandson preceded him in death. Gene was a Sgt. in the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam and worked as a Machine Operator for Caterpillar for 38 years, retiring on March 31, 2004. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 974 and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held today at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church in Pekin. Pastor Mike Roberts will officiate.
