Obituary for Pat Adamson
Patricia (Pat) Genevieve Adamson, 83, of Peoria passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Buehler Home in Peoria. She was born August 22, 1928, to Edward F. and Mabelle (Seeber) Murphy in Peoria. She married Richard S. Adamson in Peoria on April 23, 1949. He survives, also surviving are two daughters, Susan (Glenn) Fritz and Sandra (Ed) Welsh of Peoria; six grandchildren, Emily Brasel, Maggie Merica, Alex Fritz, Amanda Welsh, Lee Ann Welsh, and Rich Welsh and five great grandchildren also survive. Her brother, Edward C. Murphy of Peoria survives. Preceding her in death were her parents, and two sons, R. Michael and William. Pat graduated from Peoria Central High School and attended Bradley University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Pat loved being a homemaker. She worked for Scotti Marketing and enjoyed running her antique shop. Her summers were spent in Indiana at the cabin on the lake and she loved winters in Alabama, especially walks on the beach. She loved to read, play bridge, and was a dog lover her entire life. Most of all she treasured spending time with her family. Cremation rites have been accorded. Her family will host a Celebration of Her Life on Thursday, May 31 from 4-7 p.m. at the Itoo Hall, 4909 W. Farmington Road, Peoria. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to Central Illinois Friends of PWA, the Spina Bifida Association of Illinois or a charity of the donor’s choice.
