Obituary for Patricia "Pat" L. Hill
Patricia L. Hill 81, of Pekin passed away on Thursday March 5, 2009 at Pekin Manor. Born in Pekin to Leo and Anna Mae Foley Keller on August 30, 1927. She married William Hill on October 19, 1947 in Pekin, he preceded her in death on July 6, 1968. Also preceding was her daughter Jamie Janssen in 1980. Pat is survived by her sons; Thomas “TJ” (Susan) Hill of Green Valley, Bill (Ronda) Hill of Pekin, brother Tom (Judy) Keller of AZ, sister Mary Kay Abts of Pekin, grandchildren; Josh (Xuan) Hill of TX, Jed Hill of Green Valley, Erin Hill of Peoria, Sara (Josh) Lindahl of Pekin, Emily (Keith) McCarthy of FL, Eric (Jana) Janssen and Jessie (Chris) McDonough both of TN, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her friend of many years George Thomas of Pekin. She worked at the office of ASCS in Pekin and then went to work as a Case Worker for the Tazewell Co. Department of Human Services, retiring in 1995 and also worked as a Bailiff at the Court House, retiring in 2008. She always enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her freinds and enjoyed reading a good book. Pat was a member of the Young Democrats and St. Joseph Catholic Church where she served on St. Vincent De Paul, the ADA Committee and was on the Council of Catholic Women. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday March 10, at 12 noon with visitation two hours prior to the service at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Father Timothy Nolan will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the service and a private burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Joseph School or Harbor Lights Hospice. Her family at Abts Mortuary are handling the arrangements.
